Students must create a Facebook account which will become an integral tool for this subject. It is anticipate that having access to the student’s Facebook page will enable the teacher to access links to all other social media accounts created by the student for the course. This Facebook account will enable the student to follow other students via their Facebook pages and to interact with the Facebook accounts of library related organisations.

Students must be mindful of their privacy and respectful of the privacy of the classmates and any others they follow via their social media accounts.

Students must connect with and befriend the Facebook account of the subject teacher,Margie Teaches Libstudies. Ensure that Margie is following their page.

Students must join the class Facebook group, VU Library Studies Social Media Classes 2015.

Students must post at least ten status updates throughout the course.

Students must follow the Facebook pages of at least five library related organisations.

Students must join the ALIA Social Media Group via Facebook and the ALIA National Library Technicians Group.

Students must share the address of their Blog, Twitter, Pinterest and Scoopit accounts via their Facebook page.

Students should link their Facebook page to the Twitter feed so that they can share posts from Facebook to Twitter.
